Amelia-Jo was banded at the end of January 2025 as an adult at Caroline Hut. Named after Andy Thompson's (Guide for Alpine Recreation) granddaughter (Amelia) and wife (Jo). Andy filmed and photographed the kea capture and banding process and has kindly offered to donate the footage to help advocate for kea. He believes kea should be our national bird (and he was in good company).
