Awatere was banded in late July 2021 as a juvenile female in Arthur's Pass village. ****Sadly Awatere was last seen alive on the15 September 2021. On the 16th her remains were found on the main road in Arthur's Pass village, by the Rough Creek bridge having been run over. Her remains have been sent away for a post mortem for liver lead testing.
