Chancy was first banded in July 2023 as a sub-adult at Chancellor hut - hence the name. She flew around the hut many times calling loudly to the people there, before deciding to land on the heli-pad to say hello. Chancellor hut is a great place to spot kea - and it's a bonus that the rest of the view up there is so great!
