Harvey

Harvey was banded as a fledgling (less than a year old) at the Otira viaduct lookout in mid July 2020. He was spotted with up to ten other unbanded fledglings who had recently flocked up together into this area. Harvey was named and sponsored by Annette Ching who chose to name this kea “Harvey” after her grandson who was very sick as a baby and fought to live. Harvey still struggles but is cheeky and lives life to the fullest, just as these kea are cheeky and fight to live everyday. Annette has a soft spot for kea and would do anything to help them.
