Hubble was caught and banded along with 24 other kea over 2 days at Chancellor Hut next to Fox Glacier. Hubble was caught on the evening of a full moon and solar eclipse. The Hubble Space Telescope was launched into low Earth orbit in 1990 and remains in operation. It is one of the largest and most versatile of space telescopes and is named after astronomer Edwin Hubble.
