Mingo

Mingo was caught as a young male in Franz Josef township with very high lead levels in his blood, so was swiftly taken to hospital in Christchurch for treatment. After a successful recovery he was released back in his local area. He was named by the young daughter of one of the kea rangers, who happened to have her favourite flamingo toy in tow when he was caught. Thus, Mingo became his name and appropriate coloured bands were selected.
