Nic Toki was banded near Red Tarns in Aoraki National Park in February 2022 as a fledgling. Nic is named after the Department of Conservation Threatened Species Ambassador who begins as chief executive of Forest & Bird in April 2022. She has long been a champion for the protection of the biodiversity of Aotearoa.
