Shimano was caught at Chancellor Hut above Fox Glacier along with 34 other kea. Named after a popular fishing brand because the kea at the glacier stole not one but two! fishing rods overnight, that were used to help catch the kea. The fishing rod has a thin length of rope threaded through the fishing rod and a noose is created, that the kea step into and are lassoed with. Instead of the usual nylon line with a hook! The only thing that's hurt is the kea's ego
