This is one of just a few adult female kea that have visited Arthur's Pass village in 2018. She is named after Dr Ximena Nelson - a kea researcher at the University of Canterbury who has supervised several of the students who have undertaken their PhD research on this amazing species. Ximena is pronounced "Hee - men - ah".
