Comments
Whilst we had just seen a road sign indicating these birds were in the area, we didn’t know much about them or how rare they were. We fed them raw mixed nuts and some banana to distract them from attacking the undercarriage of our van. It was only later when we arrived at Hawdon Valley campground that I read we shouldn’t have fed them anything. I now understand why they are behaving in this way and know not to encourage this going forward. I think some signs in this area advising of dos and don’ts, and to check the bands on the birds would really help other tourists and the conservation effort
Behaviour
Begging for food, aggressively biting at our van.
