Comments
Observed at this location for 3 hours. The first group to come down were three hatch year juveniles and two adults (U and V-0001). I speculate that this is a "family" based on interactions between the birds. A visitor gave V-0001 a whole banana, and was subsequently scolded by several visitors. We were able to get half the banana back. Two additional juveniles joined along with an unbanded sub-adult female. Lastly to join was the bird "Slider" who mostly observed the action from the rocks and interacted with some of the juveniles. There may have been an additional 1-3 birds (heard calling in the distance and several coming in and flying off), but it is difficult to tell with more than half the birds observed unbanded. Before I left, I tried to pick up as much rubbish as possible.
Behaviour
Calling (screech-trill, trill, chatter, whistle/chortle, screech), flying, independent play, play with conspecifics, interaction with humans and cars, foraging in bushes, foraging rubbish
