Could see the white C pretty clearly, but could not really see if there was a letter in front of the C or not. My gut says not, which would make this bird Watene. I also think this is an adult male. There was a small notch missing out of the left hand side of the upper bill tip, just visible in the photos.
Behaviour
Was on ground before i accidentally startled it, flapped up to top of a 2.5m dead ponga. Watched me and chewed on ponga/rata.
