Banding and fitting transmitters in the Hawdon valley, as part of the DOC eastern decline study. Family of 4 kea, the adult female possibly being Sally - who had no leg bands but was carrying an older transmitter. The adult male kept distant during the two days on sight. An attempt was made at catching another adult on the night of the 18th, but was unsuccessful due to failing light and the kea showing little interest in the noose mats.
