In the car park at the Otira Viaduct Lookout on the Arthur's pass

GPS Location and timing came from a photo so very accurate. For below question I am here on a working holiday and I was a long term volunteer for the kiwi birdlife park.
Behaviour
Bird 2 was a parent of bird 1. Both birds were under cars in the car park then they became curious about the people there. They were close enough to take photos of but weren't bothering anyone. Occasionally the adult would fly and observe from the pylon. They hung around for at least 15 minutes (then I had to leave but they were still there).
