Addi was one of ten kea banded at Moturau hut on the Kepler Track during August 2019. She is a young female who is found hanging out in a very large (20+) circus of kea around the area. Addi is named after the young daughter of Monique - a local Department of Conservation ranger in Te Anau who came out to the hut for the night to help with the kea work. As the photo suggests, kea do like to investigate everything and anything that is new to them (the technical term for this is 'neophilic' - a love of novel objects).
