DOC banding and lead testing at Moturau hut by Laura, Geoff (MCU) and Cam. Up to 20 birds in the area, regularly visiting the hut and lakeshore in the morning and evening. One or two birds heard in the very early hours , eg 2am and 4am and one seen foraging in the grass next to the hut after midnight. A thriving, playful and very vocal population in the region!
