Fran is an adult female kea banded at Franz Josef during November 2019. Fran is something of a celebrity in Franz Josef, being the most regularly reported kea in the area. She is the better half of her partner, Josef, an unbanded male who has eluded capture a number of times, but they are often seen together near the Franz Josef glacier valley carpark. Despite being the fairer sex, Fran is a bit naughty and has taught people to feed her by begging and appearing very tame. Don’t let her cute tricks deceive you!
