Tony was caught and banded in 2022 in Arthurs Pass National Park. This bird I decided I would name after my Dad because I know he would love to be in Arthurs Pass catching Kea rather than working. He loves the outdoors, tramping, and is quite knowledgeable about native plants and animals. If it weren't for him, I probably wouldn't be as keen on the outdoors and animals as I am today. This Kea was a real wriggler and didn't want to co-operate with its new bands. This reminded me a wee bit of my dad and how he just does his own thing when he's past the stage of drunk!
