Behaviour
The two adults flew in - one immediately came up and started check out all our gear. One stayed slightly further away preening. The younger bird flew in shortly after and also came and checked us out. The preening adult bird came and had a nosy when it had finished cleaning. There was much amusement to be had by all three in trying to move our ice axe around on a rock and the noise it made. The three kea stayed around for about 1 and three quarter hours - the juvenile flew off down the valley - the adults watched us leave. Magic!
